The Farenexus Flutter application started from an empty repository, and my first Android app shipped to the Play Store while I was still at college.

About

From a college noticeboard to airline supply systems.

My first real app existed because I kept watching the same thing happen. Every exam season at Govt. College Kullu, students crowded a noticeboard hunting for their roll number. I built an Android app that put the seating plan in their pocket and published it to the Play Store with college funding. That's still how I pick problems: watch the friction, then remove it.

The years after that were Android — a six-month traineeship at Swipecubes Softs, an internship at Smart Programming that taught me what readable, scalable code actually looks like, then professional delivery at ABS Systems and CodeNomad. Those were the years the fundamentals were forged: lifecycle, state, and the unglamorous reality of integrating APIs that don't behave the way the documentation promised.

At CodeNomad I moved from developer to vice team lead to team lead. Leading changed what I optimised for: less clever code, more removing ambiguity before it reached the people writing it — API contracts agreed with backend before implementation, reviews that taught rather than gate-kept, architecture decided once and applied consistently.

Then Flutter, and Farenexus. I built the company's mobile app from an empty repository: clean architecture, GetX holding state across a multi-step booking flow, GDS and NDC integration, paginated search over large JSON payloads, custom seat map rendering, and the full deployment lifecycle from provisioning profiles to production rollout on both stores.

That's the throughline. I don't just build screens — I build and own complex mobile products from architecture through production.

Principles

How I think about engineering

Architecture before complexity

A booking flow accumulates rules faster than screens. Separating the booking domain from transport and UI early is what keeps a change to a fare rule from rippling through every widget.

Performance is part of UX

Large flight search results and dense seat maps are heavy by nature. Careful rendering and memory management are the difference between a product that feels premium and one that stutters.

APIs are part of the product

Upstream responses change shape, disagree between steps and sometimes fail. I treat inconsistent backend data as an expected condition to design around, not an edge case to patch later.

Ownership doesn't stop at development

I handle provisioning profiles, TestFlight distribution and releases on App Store Connect and Google Play Console. Shipping is part of engineering, not a hand-off.

Temperament

The problems I like solving.

Complex workflows

A booking is one transaction spread across six screens. Keeping that consistent is the kind of problem I enjoy holding in my head.

Large datasets

Flight search returns far more data than a phone should hold at once. Deciding what to keep, page and discard is real engineering.

Unpredictable APIs

Airline supply responses change shape between providers and steps. I like designing clients that survive that instead of assuming it away.

Performance bottlenecks

Seat maps and long result lists expose every lazy rendering decision. Finding the actual cost is satisfying work.

Production failures

A booking that fails at confirmation is the worst possible moment. Making failure recoverable is more valuable than making it rare.

Cross-team ambiguity

Most mobile bugs start as an unclear contract. I'd rather resolve that with backend early than patch it in the client later.

Own the mobile platform end to end: architecture, airline system integration, release engineering and the reliability of every booking that leaves the app.

Built the company's mobile app from scratch in Flutter, establishing a clean architecture that separates booking domain logic from UI and transport layers.
Used GetX to hold complex state across a multi-step booking flow where a single inconsistency between steps can invalidate a fare.
Integrated GDS and NDC travel systems, absorbing large JSON payloads, paginated flight search and custom rendering logic for interactive seat maps.
Ran the complete deployment lifecycle — provisioning profiles, TestFlight distribution and production rollouts on App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

Lesson

In travel tech the backend is a moving target. The mobile layer earns its keep by staying stable when upstream data does not.
